Terms of Use

Last updated: 7/21/26

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Outset app (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is provided by David Arias (“we,” “us”).

What Outset does

Outset helps you leave on time by estimating travel time, alerting you when to leave, and — with your configuration — limiting selected apps on your device before a departure until you leave a home area. Outset assists with punctuality but does not guarantee you will arrive on time. Travel-time estimates, traffic data, and location detection can be inaccurate or delayed.

Not for safety-critical use

Outset is a personal productivity tool. Do not rely on it for any situation where a missed or late departure could cause harm, and never interact with the app while driving or when doing so would be unsafe. You are responsible for your own travel decisions and safety.

Permissions you grant

The app’s features depend on permissions you grant on your device, which may include location (including “Always” access), notifications, calendar access, and Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls. You may change or revoke these at any time in device Settings; doing so may limit or disable app features.

Purchases and subscriptions

Outset offers optional paid features, including auto-renewing subscriptions and consumable purchases, through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple account. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to reverse engineer, interfere with, or circumvent its intended operation except as permitted by law. The app is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from missed or late arrivals, inaccurate estimates, or reliance on the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Apple

Outset is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app. To the extent these Terms conflict with Apple’s applicable terms, Apple’s terms govern the App Store relationship. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
